Ferry Bookings

Bookings for passengers, cars, vans, trailers and caravans to travel to Yell, Unst, Fetlar and Whalsay can be made at https://ferry.shetland.gov.uk

Ferry Booking Office Numbers

The following contact details allow you to book on the Inter Island Ferries throughout Shetland. It is advisable to book to ensure your place on board and ensure your travel plans are not disrupted, although it is only essential on the journeys highlighted on the timetable.

Ferry Voicebank Information Lines

The numbers below are the Voicebank numbers for each ferry service. In periods of bad weather or breakdown, this number will provide up to date information regarding the service and how it is running.

Dial-a-Ride Services

Dial-a-Ride services are bookable bus routes, which will only operate if a booking has been made on a particular journey.

Passengers may use these services for any purpose and the route and time of the service may vary based on the bookings received. These services must be booked by 1600 the day before travel, or the Friday before for any journeys on a Monday. Block bookings can also be made using the following number.

Local Bus Service Operators

There are many bus operators throughout Shetland and to ensure your bus travel plans are not disrupted then it is recommended to contact the operator in the case of any query.
